April 14, 2026

The Office of Congressman Keith Self hosted its fourth annual Congressional Art Competition at the Blue House Too Art Gallery, operated by the Allen Arts Alliance in Allen, Texas. This year, there were 68 entries submitted from high school students across the district.

“I’m incredibly impressed by the talent and creativity of our students in Texas District 3. The Congressional Art Competition is a highlight my team and I look forward to every year,” said Congressman Keith Self. “Congratulations to all participants, and thank you to the students, teachers, parents, and judges who made this possible. I’m excited to display the winning artwork in my district offices and in the U.S. Capitol.”

Winners from First to Fourth Place:
Ameya Kohli – “For You” from Wylie High School
Joe Studdard – “Eyes of Curiosity” from Allen High School
Grace Dowtin – “To Build a Skyscraper” from Walnut Grove High School
Yeaseo Jeong – “Fragile Flowers” from Allen High School

This year’s Congressional Art Competition judges:

Established in 1982, the Congressional Art Competition celebrates and encourages artistic achievement among high school students on a national scale. Since its founding, the competition has recognized more than 10,000 student artworks, which have been displayed in the Cannon Tunnel of the U.S. Capitol—one of the most traveled corridors in the nation.

Students submit entries to their representative’s office, and panels of district artists select the winning entries. Winners are recognized both in their district and at an annual awards ceremony in Washington, D.C. The winning works are displayed for one year at the U.S. Capitol.
