Each spring, a nation-wide high school art competition is sponsored by the Members of the U.S. House of Representatives. The Congressional Art Competition is an opportunity to recognize and encourage artistic talent in the nation, as well as in our Congressional District.
High school students residing in Texas’s 3rd Congressional District are invited to submit an original, two-dimensional artwork piece for the 2027 Congressional Art Competition.
All submissions will be VIRTUAL. Students must upload a clear photo (JPEG or PNG) of their artwork and an optional short video explaining the full piece, close-up details, and the inspiration behind the artwork for judging. All submissions MUST be under 1 GB. 1 entry per person.
The deadline to submit your artwork is Friday, April 16th, 2027 at 5:00 PM CST.
The 1st place artwork will be displayed for one year at the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C., and the winner and one guest will be invited to a reception in D.C. The 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place pieces will be displayed atour congressional offices. The 5th through 25th place pieces will be featured in a traveling art show across the district.
Artwork must be original, created by one student, two-dimensional, and no larger than 26” x 26” x 4” or 15 pounds, including the frame. For any questions, please email khushi.patel1@mail.house.gov.
