Congressman Keith Self Scores Key Win in the Passage of the FAA Reauthorization Act

Congressman Keith Self today voted to pass the Securing Growth and Robust Leadershipin American Aviation Act. This bill will reauthorize the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and aviation safety and infrastructure programs through the next five years.

Congressman Keith Self successfully passed his amendment that directs the FAA to conduct a feasibility study to determine the cost of hardening satellites that contribute to U.S. aerospace navigation.

“It is imperative that we protect our aviation infrastructure against electromagnetic field (EMF) and electromagnetic pulse (EMP) attacks from adversarial nations,” said Congressman Keith Self. “I am pleased that my amendment to study the cost of hardening our satellites was included in the final version of the aviation bill.”

This bill will now proceed to the U.S. Senate for consideration.
