Congressman Keith Self Talks Mail-In Voting, the SAVE Act, and Collin County Paper Ballots on the Election Protection Project Podcast
Congressman Keith Self (TX-03), a member of the House Election Integrity Caucus, joined the Texas Public Policy Foundation’s Election Protection Project Podcast to discuss the SAVE Act, Texas voter ID protections, banning mail-in voting, and Collin County’s return to hand-marked paper ballots.
The conversation also addressed constitutional questions surrounding federal election reforms, the Department of Justice’s review of state voter rolls, and the Election Integrity Caucus’s priorities as lawmakers prepare for the 2026 midterms.
“Voter ID is a foundational principle to ensure that U.S. citizens — the ones who are supposed to vote in an election — are the ones voting. It’s a real simple question to me: every transaction you make requires you to identify yourself. Why not when you vote?” said Representative Keith Self.
