Today, Congressman Keith Self sent a letter to Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin regarding startling reports of the Houthi Rebels purchasing highly sophisticated anti-ship missiles from Russia.

This missile, known as the Yakhont missile or P-800 Onik, is infamous for its ability to travel at twice the speed of sound at low altitudes over land and water. Experts believe Hezbollah used this missile in their war against Israel in 2006, as well as in their efforts to support the Assad regime in the Syrian Civil War.

Today, Congressman Keith Self introduced the Federal Program Integrity and Fraud Prevention Act of 2024, aimed at preventing individuals convicted of defrauding the government from engaging in business with federal agencies. This bill would protect taxpayer dollars by barring those convicted of felonies, specifically related to fraud against the government, from participating in federal contracts, grants, and financial assistance programs.

Congressman Keith Self led a letter to U.S. Naval Academy Superintendent Yvette M. Davids condemning the Academy's decision to invite New York University Professor Ruth Ben-Ghiat to deliver the annual Bancroft Lecture. Professor Ben-Ghiat has publicly stated that it is her intention to use the platform to attack a current presidential candidate, Donald Trump, in what would be a clear violation of Department of Defense regulations prohibiting partisan political activity by military institutions.

Congressman Keith Self responded with a letter to the United States Ambassador to the United Nations (UN), Linda Thomas-Greenfield, condemning the resolution and demanding consequences for the nations opposing Israel.
