Today, Congressman Keith Self introduced a bill to relocate the Headquarters of the United States Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agency to Texas.

Currently, the CBP Headquarters is located in Washington, D.C., approximately 2,000 miles away from the southern border of the United States. Moving the headquarters will decentralize Washington bureaucracy, reduce costs to operate the CBP, and bring the law enforcement agency closer to the frontline of the crisis.

Congressman Keith Self reintroduced the Venue Named Under Exception Act, also known as the VENUE Act, with Congressman Troy E. Nehls as the co-lead. This bill would allow individuals charged with a crime on federal property in the Washington, D.C. area to transfer their trial to a federal court in their home jurisdiction.

Today, Congressman Keith Self led a letter with Congressman Wesley Hunt, Congressman Michael Cloud, Congressman Tony Gonzales, and Congressman-elect Brandon Gill to the Republican Members of the Texas House of Representatives. The letter urged each Member to support the Texas Republican Caucus Speaker nominee and stand firm against appointing Democrats to chair Texas House committees.

Today, Congressman Keith Self sent a letter to Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin regarding startling reports of the Houthi Rebels purchasing highly sophisticated anti-ship missiles from Russia.

This missile, known as the Yakhont missile or P-800 Onik, is infamous for its ability to travel at twice the speed of sound at low altitudes over land and water. Experts believe Hezbollah used this missile in their war against Israel in 2006, as well as in their efforts to support the Assad regime in the Syrian Civil War.
