Congressman Keith Self is hosting a forum Saturday, September 23rd, to inform the public about the U.S. Service Academies nomination process. The event will be open to students, parents, and high school faculty interested in learning about the academies and their corresponding nomination processes.

Today, Congressman Keith Self sent a letter to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), along with 52 other members of the U.S. House of Representatives, regarding the agency’s new proposed rule to restrict the rights of Americans to sell firearms.

The rule would expand the reach of licensing requirements for private individuals who occasionally sell firearms. Law-abiding Americans would be subjected to unnecessary fees, background checks, fingerprinting, and hours of bureaucratic red tape – in addition to existing state and local regulations.

Today, Congressman Keith Self introduced a bill to eliminate the HUD Equity Action Plan of the Department of Housing and Urban Development—a new set of regulations enacted by the Biden administration.

“This is a gross overstep of the powers of the federal government and will end up impeding the abilities of state and local governments to properly govern,” said Congressman Keith Self. “HUD has failed to acknowledge that sustained upward mobility is based on the constructive life decisions made at the family level — including marriage and employment.”

Today, Congressman Keith Self announces the grand opening of the Hunt County district office in Greenville, Texas.

“I am pleased to unveil a Greenville location that will allow our staff to better serve the needs of Hunt County residents,” Congressman Keith Self said. “The new Hunt County office will offer support to constituents dealing with immigration issues, passports, veteran’s issues, and other federal requests.”

Congressman Keith Self today voted to pass the Securing Growth and Robust Leadershipin American Aviation Act. This bill will reauthorize the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and aviation safety and infrastructure programs through the next five years.

Congressman Keith Self, along with House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul, Congressman Michael Waltz, Congresswoman Maria Salazar, Congressman Nathaniel Moran, and Congressman Joe Wilson today introduced the Iran Sanctions Relief Review Act (ISRRA) of 2023. This bill strengthens Congress’ oversight powers over any action by President Biden’s administration to relieve sanctions on Iran.

Congressman Keith Self introduced the House companion bill to Senator Rick Scott’s STOP CCP Act of 2023 that will prohibit financial investments in Chinese Communist Party controlled entities and expand the sanctions reference list.

“The Chinese government cannot be trusted,” said Congressman Self. “I am proud to stand with my Republican colleague, Senator Rick Scott, in moving forward this critical bill to deter China.”

Today, Congressman Keith Self introduced the Foreign Automobile Industry Restriction on Electric Vehicle Tax Credits (FAIR-EV Tax Credits) Act. This bill would prevent our foreign adversaries from receiving tax credits intended for Electric Vehicles as permitted in the Democrat-led Inflation Reduction Act of 2022.

Currently, Chinese companies are partnering with American companies to take advantage of these tax credits, thereby strengthening China at the expense of American taxpayers.
