“While I fully supported the House Republican’s NDAA bill passed in July, I could not in good conscience vote for the Senate negotiated NDAA as it allows American taxpayer dollars to be used for abortion-travel for servicemembers and extends Section 702 of FISA without reform,” said Congressman Keith Self. “I staunchly stand with our men and women in uniform and am deeply disappointed in the politicization of this essential legislation to fund our military.”

The United States has imposed sanctions on several Iranian airlines and members of the EU and NATO should follow suit by applying their own sanctions.

Congressman Keith Self is hosting a forum Saturday, September 23rd, to inform the public about the U.S. Service Academies nomination process. The event will be open to students, parents, and high school faculty interested in learning about the academies and their corresponding nomination processes.

Today, Congressman Keith Self sent a letter to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), along with 52 other members of the U.S. House of Representatives, regarding the agency’s new proposed rule to restrict the rights of Americans to sell firearms.

The rule would expand the reach of licensing requirements for private individuals who occasionally sell firearms. Law-abiding Americans would be subjected to unnecessary fees, background checks, fingerprinting, and hours of bureaucratic red tape – in addition to existing state and local regulations.

Today, Congressman Keith Self introduced a bill to eliminate the HUD Equity Action Plan of the Department of Housing and Urban Development—a new set of regulations enacted by the Biden administration.

“This is a gross overstep of the powers of the federal government and will end up impeding the abilities of state and local governments to properly govern,” said Congressman Keith Self. “HUD has failed to acknowledge that sustained upward mobility is based on the constructive life decisions made at the family level — including marriage and employment.”
