Today, Congressman Keith Self sent a letter to the DC Chief Medical Examiner, Dr. Francisco J. Diaz, demanding he conduct an independent investigation and autopsies for the ‘DC Five.’

The DC Five were five unborn children discovered inside a cardboard box outside the Washington Surgi-Clinic abortion facility on March 25, 2022. Instead of immediately investigating the cause of death, the FBI arrested one of the women who discovered the bodies.

Congressman Keith Self co-led The Patient’s Choice Act of 2024 with Senator Kennedy, overturning the Biden Administration’s proposed rule that dramatically reduces the time frame individuals have access to shortterm, limited-duration health plans.

“These insurance plans are designed to provide Americans with temporary, limited, and affordable health coverage while they search for more permanent solutions,” said Congressman Keith Self. “This bill stops the Department of Health & Human Services, Labor, and Treasury from imposing burdensome regulations on Americans.”

Congressman Keith Self led a letter, along with 23 House Republican Members, in support of Governor Greg Abbott’s efforts to secure the border. In their letter, Members of Congress encouraged Governor Abbot you to continue defending Texas’ sovereignty by holding the line against the Biden administration’s lawless border policies.

The letter goes on to state that “Article 4, Section 4 of the U.S. Constitution guarantees that states would be protected from a Federal Government that would defy the law and force a state to endure a foreign invasion.”

Congressman Keith Self led an amicus brief at the Supreme Court in support of the plaintiffs in Alvarado v. Austin, 39 military chaplains who suffered a blanket denial of their Religious Accommodation Requests (RAR) followed by retaliatory actions. Twenty-five members of Congress signed Rep. Self’s amicus brief, in a strong show of support of chaplains’ right to follow their conscience.

This week, Congressman Keith Self voted in favor of the Supporting Pregnant and Parenting Women and Families Act and the Pregnant Students’ Rights Act. These bills would stop the Biden Administration from denying funding for pregnancy centers in America and would force universities receiving Title IX funding to provide pro-life pregnancy resources to pregnant students.
